Leadership Engagement Specialist at Planned Parenthood

Josephine Carroll's work experience begins in 2012 as an intern at Egmont Publishing, where they assisted a senior editor by reviewing and writing reports for submitted manuscripts. In 2015, they worked as an Assistant Program Coordinator at Theater Mitu, providing logistical support and serving as a translator during workshops for Japanese traditional theater and performance arts. Josephine also worked as a Middle School English Teaching Assistant at The American School in Japan, tailoring and teaching an English program for native Japanese speakers.

In 2016, Josephine started multiple roles at the Emily Dickinson Museum, including Guide and Museum Assistant, Intern, and Public Programs Intern. Josephine conducted tours, maintained cleanliness of the museum, and assisted in opening and closing the historic houses. Additionally, they expanded the virtual tour of the Museum, created a foreign language guide for tours, and planned events to engage younger visitors with Emily Dickinson's poetry. That same year, they also worked as a Lobby Attendant at Mead Art Museum, where they greeted visitors, enforced museum guidelines, and sold museum products.

In 2016, Josephine became a Latin Teaching Assistant at Amherst College, where they planned and ran weekly grammar review classes for students. Josephine also created syllabi that the Latin professors still use. Josephine continued this role until 2017.

Starting in 2018, Josephine worked as a Member and Visitor Services Representative at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Josephine acted as the first point of contact for visitors, handled inquiries, and sold tickets for various programs.

In 2019, Josephine took on the role of Advancement Assistant at Historic New England. Josephine launched new communication tools, organized exclusive in-person events for major donors, and supported prospect cultivation efforts. Josephine continued in this role until 2021.

Currently, Josephine is working at Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Josephine started as a Philanthropy Coordinator in September 2021 and later transitioned to the role of Leadership Engagement Specialist in October 2022.

Throughout their career, Josephine has gained experience in project coordination, research, event planning, communication, customer service, and teaching.

Josephine Carroll attended The American School in Japan from 2001 to 2014, where they completed their high school education. Josephine then enrolled in Amherst College from 2014 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Classics and Classical Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics. In 2017, they also briefly studied Art History, Classics and Classical Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics, and Sociology at Syracuse University.
