Sawyeh Maghsoodloo

Sawyeh Maghsoodloo has a diverse range of work experience. Currently, they hold the position of Associate Director of Advocacy Research at Planned Parenthood Federation of America, starting in January 2022. Prior to this, Sawyeh worked as the Research and Policy Director at Community Justice Action Fund from August 2021 to January 2022, where they were responsible for creating a participatory process to develop a policy platform and ensuring accurate messaging. From June 2019 to August 2021, Sawyeh served as the Research Manager at Everytown for Gun Safety, leading the organization's awareness of research on gun violence prevention, and as a Research Associate from June 2017 to June 2019, where they conducted primary research and authored reports. They also had a role as a Survivor Engagement Graduate Intern from February 2017 to August 2017 at Everytown for Gun Safety. Before that, Sawyeh worked as the Direct Marketing Coordinator and Canvass Operations Assistant at Human Rights Campaign from December 2015 to August 2016, and from November 2014 to December 2015, respectively. They also served as the Deputy Canvass Coordinator at Karl Racine for DC Attorney General from September 2014 to November 2014. Sawyeh gained experience as an LGBT Progress Research Intern at the Center for American Progress from June 2014 to September 2014. Additionally, they served as the Chair of the Board of Directors at Isla Vista Recreation and Park District from November 2012 to June 2014, holding municipal public office at a young age. Sawyeh's early work experience includes an internship as an Intern for US Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) in the United States Senate from June 2013 to September 2013, and as a Campaign Field Intern for Hannah-Beth Jackson for CA State Senate (D) from May 2012 to November 2012. Sawyeh Maghsoodloo completed a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree in Public and Nonprofit Management & Public Policy Analysis from the NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. This education was pursued from 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, Sawyeh obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Political Science with a focus in American Politics from UC Santa Barbara, which was achieved between 2010 and 2014.

In addition to formal education, Sawyeh Maghsoodloo obtained two additional certifications.
