Sharon Knieper

Sharon Knieper has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles.

Sharon started their career in 2003 at the Public Library of Cincinnati & Hamilton County as a Library Services Assistant, where they worked until 2008.

In 2008, they joined the Population Studies Center as a Library Assistant and stayed until 2009. From 2009 to 2010, they worked as an IT Public Library Associate at the Ann Arbor District Library.

In 2010, Sharon worked as a Website Designer at the Center for Sustainable Systems for a brief period.

Sharon then joined the Augustus C. Long Health Sciences Library as a Website Designer from 2011 to 2013. Later, they transitioned to the role of a User Experience Strategist at the same library and worked until 2015.

Simultaneously, from 2011 to 2020, they worked as a UX Research/Design and Drupal Consultant in the consulting industry.

In 2017, Sharon joined New York Cares as a Web Developer and transitioned to the role of Director Of Technology from 2018 to 2021.

Currently, they are working at Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Sharon started as an Associate Director of Information Management in January 2022 and was later promoted to the role of Associate Director of Data Governance in July 2023.

Sharon Knieper holds a Master of Science in Information degree from the University of Michigan - School of Information. Sharon also has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Cincinnati - College Conservatory of Music. In addition, they obtained a certification in the Developing Leaders Program for Nonprofit Professionals from Columbia Business School Executive Education in December 2020.
