Sonia Gallardo has a diverse range of work experience spanning multiple industries. Starting in 2001 at JPMorgan Chase as a Senior Financial Analyst, they later worked as a Financial Manager at Don't Blink Entertainment from 2004 to 2006. Sonia then joined Paramount Pictures as a Senior Financial Analyst, where they managed budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting related to film production.
In 2007, Sonia founded Knitting Peace, a social enterprise in Bolivia that employed and empowered incarcerated women through the creation of fair trade, hand-knit Alpaca products. Sonia oversaw all aspects of the business, including operations, vendor relationships, budgeting, and inventory management. Under their leadership, Knitting Peace became recognized as a leader in the social enterprise space and participated in international trade fairs.
Sonia also worked as a Senior Financial Analyst at STARZ FILM AND MEDIA INSTITUTE (SFMI) and NYU Langone Medical Center. At SFMI, they focused on financial analysis, and at NYU Langone Medical Center, they worked as a Senior Financial Analyst.
From 2013 to 2015, Sonia served as a Senior Financial Analyst at Escada, where they prepared financial statements, conducted variance analysis, and implemented risk assessment strategies.
In 2015, Sonia joined the International Planned Parenthood Federation/Western Hemisphere Region (IPPF WHR), where they held various roles, including Financial Officer and Senior Officer Finance and Impact Investing. In these positions, they managed financial aspects of grant programs, developed and facilitated incubator and optimization programs, and established a feminist impact fund due diligence process.
Currently, Sonia is the Director of Grants and Compliance at Planned Parenthood Federation of America, leading the financial grant management implementation process and developing strategic processes to enhance the organization's ability to manage donor funding and contracts.
Sonia Gallardo pursued their education in a variety of fields throughout their academic journey. From 1992 to 1999, they attended the Universidad Católica Boliviana, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Santa Monica from 2006 to 2008 to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Psychology. Additionally, in 1999 and 2000, Sonia Gallardo attended UCLA Extension and earned an Award in General Business Studies with a Concentration in Finance, thus expanding their knowledge in the field of Business Administration and Management.
