James Miller

James Miller has worked in the tech industry since 2006. From 2006 to 2009, they were the Network Administrator at 1st Pacific Bank. From 2009 to 2014, they were the Owner/Software Development Contractor at JK Tech. From 2014 to 2018, they were the Principal Platform Engineer at Planning Center, where they were responsible for building and maintaining highly-available systems on AWS to host a suite of products used by over 60,000 organizations. Since 2018, they have been the CEO and Founder of Ready Five, where they founded, built and publicly launched Ready Five incident management software from the ground up, using exclusively Serverless technologies on AWS for the backend, React for the frontend, and React Native for mobile. James has leaned into services such as AppSync, API Gateway, Lambda, and DynamoDB for unmatched performance, reliability, and scalability while being repeatably deployable with CloudFormation using infrastructure-as-code.

James Miller obtained a BA in Global Studies: International Economics & Politics from UC Santa Barbara between 2002 and 2006. In November 2017, they obtained an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA) certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
