Giovanna James

Giovanna James, M.Ed., has over a decade of experience in educational leadership and counseling. Currently serving as the Senior High Lead Counselor at Plano ISD since August 2010, Giovanna leads a diverse team of educators, optimizes counseling department operations, and implements programs aimed at enhancing College, Career, and Military Readiness. Prior roles include High School Counselor and High School Science Teacher, where Giovanna provided academic and emotional support to students and developed resources for financial aid and scholarships. Earlier experience includes teaching science at Allen ISD and Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, where involvement in curriculum development and student intervention programs was notable. Giovanna holds a Master of Education in Counselor Education from Dallas Baptist University and a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from The University of Texas at Dallas.
