Rafael Ferreira Cury has extensive experience in product development and research in metallurgy and material sciences, currently serving as the Product Development Manager for the Aviation, Defense, and Government segments at Plansee since June 2010. In addition to this role, Rafael heads development for the Tungsten Heavy Alloys business unit and oversees an R&D team, offering technical and advisory expertise to customers. Rafael also contributes to academia as an invited teacher on topics related to general metallurgy, surface analyses, and corrosion science at Ecole technique supérieure du laboratoire. Previous experience includes roles as an R&D Engineer at Vallourec, a PhD researcher at CNRS focusing on high yield strength alloys, and teaching positions at Université Paris XII. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree from CentraleSupélec, a PhD from Université Paris-Est Créteil, and an Engineering degree from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais.
