Frank Turano

Chief Research Officer and Co-founder at Plant Sensory Systems

Frank Turano has worked in the research field for over 35 years. In 2021, they became the Chief Research Officer and Co-founder of Natáur LLC, a company that provides a sustainable and eco-friendly source of taurine. Prior to this, they were the Chief Research Officer and Co-founder of Plant Sensory Systems from 2008. From 1999 to 2008, they were an Associate Professor of Biological Sciences and Genetics at The George Washington University. Before this, they worked at the USDA-ARS from 1986 to 1999 in two roles: Plant Molecular Biologist in the Climate Stress Lab and Research Geneticist in the Plant Molecular Biology Lab.

Frank Turano obtained a Master of Science (MS) in Environmental Science from Miami University in 1981-1983, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Botany/Plant Biology from Miami University in 1983-1986.
