Maurits van de Ven has a diverse work experience. From 2008 to 2016, they held various roles at different companies. In 2008, they were the Conference Manager for AIESEC Groningen, where they were responsible for the organization's largest acquisition event. From 2009 to 2010, they were a Co-Founder of EcoAddicts, Shirtfitters.com, and Medim Ventures. At Medim Ventures, they were also a Founder and co-owner of MediMobility.nl. In 2011, they were the Co-Founder of VelgenHuis.nl, a successful service retailer of wheels and tyres for passenger cars. In 2014, they were a Business Developer in The Netherlands for Splio, where they were responsible for sales, implementation, and account management. From 2015 to 2016, they were an Intern Analyst at Emendo Capital and an Analyst at Atlas Advisors. In 2016, they were also a Co-Founder of Plantible Foods.

Maurits van de Ven completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Technology Management from the University of Groningen from 2007 to 2013. Maurits then attended Esade from 2014 to 2015, where they received a Master of Science (MSc) in Finance. In 2015, they completed an Executive Programme in Economics, Investments and Entrepreneurship in Latin America at the Universidad de Los Andes. Prior to that, they attended KSG De Breul Zeist from 2004 to 2007, where they completed a VWO - Atheneum. Maurits also attended Christelijk Gymnasium Utrecht from 2001 to 2004. Additionally, they obtained a Spanish DELE B1 from the Instituto Cervantes in November 2013.
