Carine Geelen

Carine Geelen has extensive work experience in procurement and sourcing roles within the chemicals and water technologies industries. Carine is currently the Global Procurement Director at Plastiflex since May 2021. Prior to that, Carine worked at SUEZ - Water Technologies & Solutions as the Sourcing Director EUROPE from November 2018 to July 2020, and as the Global Sourcing Leader for Chemicals from October 2017 to November 2018. Before joining SUEZ, Carine had a long career at GE, where they held various leadership positions such as Global Sourcing Leader - Chemicals & Monitoring Solutions and EMEA Sourcing Leader & Global Forecasting Leader for Chemicals & Monitoring Solutions. Carine also worked at Hercules as a Chemicals Buyer and Assistant Buyer, and at BetzDearborn as a Paper Application Specialist. Carine started their career as a Starch Researcher for the paper industry at Cargill after completing their Researcher role at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, where they worked on an Agfa Gevaert project.

Carine Geelen has pursued their education in various fields throughout their career. In 1983, they attended KU Leuven but did not obtain a specific degree in Pharmacy. Carine went on to study Industrial Chemistry at Katholieke Hogeschool Leuven from 1984 to 1987, earning their Bachelor's degree. Recently, in 2017, Carine attended Crotonville Alumni to pursue a program in Organizational Leadership called "Realizing Meaningful Change." In addition, they have obtained certifications in "Werken met de Zeis" and "Certification Natuurmanagement Basis" from Inverde in the years 2023 and 2021 respectively.
