Martin Tempus

Martin Tempus has an extensive work experience history. Their most recent role is as the CEO of Europe for PLATIT AG, a position they started in October 2021. Prior to that, they were a Council Member at GLG in 2020. In 2021, they worked as a Product Marketing Manager at Evatec AG, a global leader in thin film technology. From 2014 to 2020, they held various roles at Oerlikon Metco, including Head of Strategy & Technology and Global Head of Thermal Spray Equipment. Before that, they were a Board Member at the Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce from 2011 to 2014. Martin also had significant experience at Sulzer, where they served as Country Manager Metco China, General Manager of Sulzer Pumps Suzhou, and Corporate Development Manager. Martin started their career at Bystronic Laser AG as a General Manager and at Zellweger Energy as a Product Manager.

Martin Tempus has a strong educational background with a focus on leadership and business management. Martin completed the Advanced High Performance Leadership program at IMD in 2019. In 2012, they obtained a degree in High Performance Leadership from IMD. Martin also studied Organizational Behavior Studies at the Tavistock Institute - Leicester Conference in 2009. Martin completed the Unaxis Executive Management Program at IMD in 2002 and attended the Special Issues in Mergers & Acquisitions course at INSEAD in 2001. In 2000, they participated in the Executive Program in Financial Management at The Wharton School. Prior to their business education, Martin obtained a PhD in Laser Physics from the University of Bern in 1993 and an MSc in Physics from ETH Zürich in 1989. Additionally, they have obtained certifications as a GMI Certified Mentor from the Global Mentorship Initiative in 2021 and in Digital Business Strategy: Harnessing Our Digital Future from MIT Sloan School of Management in 2020.
