Joe Wagner

Joe Wagner has over 10 years of work experience in the gaming industry. Joe began their career in 2008 as a Community Liaison for GameLayers, where they worked with a dedicated player community to educate, entertain, engage and inform players on a rapidly evolving and ever-changing product. In 2009, they moved to Veil Entertainment as a Community Manager & Game Designer, where they architected daily engagement events to support a new product's open beta periods. Joe then joined DeNA in 2010 as Director of Player Relationships, where they established and led a department focused on customer service, community management, player outreach, and optimization of communication channels for a global audience of mobile, social gamers. In 2013, they moved to Supercell as Community Lead & Player Engagement, where they lead strategic efforts in continuing a world-class community management program for Clash of Clans and Hay Day. Joe then joined Facebook in 2014 as a Games Partnerships, where they helped the world’s top mobile game developers uniquely leverage Facebook in order to build, grow, and learn more about the people who make up their audiences. In 2015, they moved to Oculus VR as Store Editor (Partnerships), where they launched Gear VR (November 2015) and Rift (March 2016) storefronts with over 450 applications in total. Joe then joined Sociality Squared as an Advisor in 2016. That same year, they also joined Be This Creative as a Strategist & Partner. In 2017, they joined Plato as VP Live Product, VP Growth & Community, and Director of Growth & Community.

Joe Wagner attended San Diego State University, where they earned a degree in English with a focus in Literature and Linguistics.
