Stanford Thompson

Stanford Thompson is an accomplished leader in the classical music sector, currently serving as the Executive Director of Equity Arc, an organization dedicated to addressing racial and ethnic diversity in classical music. As the Founding Board Chairman and Principal of Goldsmith Strategies, Stanford provides valuable insights into the evolving needs of cultural institutions. Recently appointed as Interim Director of Expanded Education at the New England Conservatory of Music, Stanford focuses on expanding educational programs. Stanford also founded Play On Philly, an initiative offering music education to underserved students. Previously, as a Special Advisor to the President at the New England Conservatory, Stanford played a key role in fostering cultural equity in the institution. Stanford holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Trumpet Performance from the Curtis Institute of Music and a Certificate from the Sistema Fellows Program at the New England Conservatory of Music.
