Fernando Mulet is the EVP and Chief Development Officer of Playa Hotels & Resorts. Fernando has over fifteen years of experience in the hospitality industry, conducting feasibility analysis for the purchase of hotels and hotel portfolios and directing development efforts in Mexico, the Caribbean, and the USA.

Mulet began their career with Barceló Crestline Corporation in 2003 as the Director of New Business Development. In this role, they were responsible for conducting feasibility analysis for the purchase of hotels and hotel portfolios in the USA. Fernando was also involved in executive communications between and within the corporate departments in Virginia and Spain. In 2005, Mulet left Barceló Crestline Corporation to join Highland Hospitality Corporation as the Director of International Investments & Asset Management.

At Highland Hospitality Corporation, Mulet conducted feasibility analysis for the purchase of hotels and hotel portfolios in the USA and directed development efforts in Mexico and the Caribbean. Fernando was also involved in the preparation and implementation of the initial public offering of Highland Hospitality Corporation (HIH) stock, which successfully began trading on the NYSE on December 16th, 2003.

In 2006, Mulet left Highland Hospitality Corporation to join Playa Hotels & Resorts as the EVP and Chief Development Officer. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing all aspects of development for Playa Hotels & Resorts worldwide.

Fernando Mulet has an E-2 in Business Administration from Comillas Pontifical University and a Certification in Real Estate, Development and Hotels Investment from Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration.
