Carlos Barboza has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Carlos started their career in 2003 at Claro Brasil, where they worked as a Radio Access Network Consultant and later as a Radio Access Network Manager. In these roles, they were responsible for network planning, expansion, and optimization, as well as handling customer complaints and providing technical sales support.
In 2008, Carlos moved on to Optimi, where they worked as a Sr. Radio Access Network Engineer, providing consulting services to Vivo. Carlos then joined WebRadar in 2009 as a Product Development Manager, where they were involved in delivering Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions for telecommunications clients, prioritizing product features, and managing the product roadmap.
Carlos then joined Int6 Technology in 2011 as a Senior Information Technology Consultant, where they supported ICT clients as a project manager, system architect, and technology advisor.
In 2016, Carlos joined Ambiata, initially as a Delivery Manager, responsible for delivering the Ambiata Machine Learning PaaS solution to Tier 1 clients in Australia. Carlos authored documents to support project delivery. Later, they became a Product Engineering Manager, focusing on managing and prioritizing the ML platform backlog, product and software architecture, and implementing a DevSecOps culture.
Most recently, Carlos joined PLAYGROUND XYZ in 2021 as a Senior Data Engineer.
Carlos Barboza completed their Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul from 1992 to 1996. In 1998, they obtained their Master of Science (MSc) degree in Telecommunications from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul.
In addition to their degrees, Carlos Barboza has obtained several certifications. Carlos earned a certificate in Data Manipulation at Scale: Systems and Algorithms from Coursera Verified Certificates in October 2015. Carlos also received certifications in Reproducible Research, Statistical Inference, Exploratory Data Analysis, Getting and Cleaning Data, R Programming, and The Data Scientist's Toolbox from Coursera between 2014 and 2015.
