Sophie is a Director for Legal Affairs at CDPQ, exclusively dedicated to assisting the infrastructure investment team for North America and LATAM. She has been involved in several high-profile transactions such as Plenary Americas, DP World/CDPQ platform and TAG (Brazil). She currently also sits on the board of Student Transportation of America.
Sophie has almost 10 years’ experience advising on various aspects of infrastructure projects including development, mergers/acquisitions and litigation. She spent several years as an associate in the Paris office of Simmons & Simmons before serving as in-house counsel with SunPower, a subsidiary of Total SA, for the EMEA-APAC region. There she advised on all stages of solar power plant development including land rights, regulatory aspects, partnerships and co-development, up to construction and O&M.
Sophie holds a Bachelor of Science, with distinction, from McGill University and an LL.B. from University of Montreal. She also completed a Master’s degree in International Private Law at Paris II – ASSAS (France). She is member of the Quebec Bar (Montreal) and of the Paris Bar.
