Kat Valencia has held various roles in the corporate world since 2011. Kat began their career as a Customer Marketing Assistant at Del Monte Foods, Inc. in 2011. In 2012, they joined Globe Telecom as a Management Associate and held various roles such as Brand Manager, Business Planning for Loans Business (Advance Airtime Credit), Product Owner, Globe Rewards Mobile App, and Assistant Brand Manager, Globe Rewards. In 2020, they moved to SM Retail as a Sr. Marketing Manager, Engagement and Loyalty for E-Commerce-ShopSM, SM Markets. Currently, they are the Head of Customer Retention at Plentina.
Kat Valencia completed a dual degree program at De La Salle University from 2006 to 2011, earning a BA in Communication Arts and a BS in Marketing Management. Kat then went on to pursue a Master of Business Administration degree with a Marketing concentration at the Asian Institute of Management from 2018 to 2019. Finally, they obtained a Master of Advanced Management degree with a Management Science concentration from the Yale School of Management in 2020.

Plentina aims to unlock financial services to the emerging middle class in emerging markets by using machine learning algorithms. Plentina builds an alternative credit score and app that provides store credit financing to buy essentials like food and medicine. Plentina is currently in the Techstars Western Union accelerator focused on financial access.
