Jimmy Skjold Hansen is a partner in our Dispute Resolution team.
Jimmy represents clients in litigation and arbitration and has a particular focus on international, commercial arbitration cases at the Arbitration Institute in Copenhagen (DIA), Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC), International Chamber of Commerce in Paris (ICC) and London Court of Arbitration (LCIA). .
Jimmy also has experience in handling international investment arbitration cases - ie. disputes between investors and host states - after ICSID and UNCITRAL rules, and he regularly advises Danish companies, mutual funds and pension funds on investment protection abroad in accordance with international investment treaties.
In addition, Jimmy focuses on litigation in Denmark and abroad on compensation for securities litigation.
As one of very few Danish lawyers, Jimmy has specialized knowledge and experience from abroad on resolving conflicts between companies from different countries and between companies and states etc. In addition to his Danish education, he has an LL.M. (Master of International Dispute Settlement) from Geneva, Switzerland, one of the key places for international conflict resolution worldwide.
Jimmy has also worked at a law firm in Geneva, where he has assisted leading international arbitrators in dealing with commercial arbitration and investment arbitration cases, among others. food, renewable energy, oil, gas and mining industries.
Jimmy Skjold Hansen also acts as arbitrator in Danish and international cases.
Finally, Jimmy is an active participant in the international arbitration environment, including as a speaker and author, and he supervises the University of Copenhagen's "Vis Moot" team in the trial game Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot as well as Plesner's annual "Pre-Moot" competition in the same regard.
