Daan Kempen

Daan Kempen has a strong background in engineering, with a focus on electrical and instrumentation work. Daan most recently worked as a Senior Instrumentation Engineer at Plug Power starting in November 2022. Prior to that, Kempen held various roles, including Project Manager Engineering at IP_Engineering.nl, Senior Project Engineer at Kimman Process Solutions B.V., EI&A Project Engineer at Arkema, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer at De Jong Combustion/R&V Engineering, and Project Engineering at Kimman Process Solutions B.V. Kempen also gained extensive experience as an E&I Engineer at Eltacon Engineering, where they were involved in the design, programming, testing, commissioning, and support of gas booster compressor projects. Earlier in their career, they worked in R&D at QBTEC, a leading producer of professional cooking and frying installations in Europe.

Daan Kempen's education history begins in 2002 when they enrolled at ROC Utrecht, where they studied Werktuigbouwkunde and earned their MTS degree in 2006. Daan then pursued further education at TH Rijswijk/ Haagse Hoge School from 2009 to 2010, where they obtained an HTS degree in Werktuigbouwkunde. In 2010, Daan attended TH Rijswijk for a year, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned during this period.

Apart from their formal education, Daan Kempen has also obtained various certifications. In December 2013, they completed the VCA Veiligheid voor Operationeel Leidinggevenden certification from Centraal Bureau Examens b.v. In May 2014, they obtained the NEN 3140 certification from Smit Opleidingen & Trainingen. Daan then completed the SIMATIC S7 Basis cursus met TIA-Portal from Siemens in December 2014, followed by the SIMATIC S7 Systeemcursus met TIA-Portal from Siemens in February 2015. In May 2015, they acquired the IECEx 05 - Ex 001 certification from Dekra Industrial. Additionally, Daan completed the Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training (OPITO) from Falck Safety Services (NL) in October 2015. Lastly, in June 2017, they obtained the IECEx 05 - Ex 007-008 Visual, close and detailed inspection of explosion- protected equipment and wiring systems certification from DEKRA.
