Geoff Zarzecki, P.E. has extensive experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on product development and design. Geoff has worked in various roles at different companies throughout their career.
At Plug Power, Geoff served as a Sr. Mechanical Engineer, where they were responsible for designing and developing electronics enclosures for high-volume production. Geoff utilized CAE tools, including CFD and FEA, to create IP rated electrical enclosures. Geoff also conducted design reviews and FMEAs.
Prior to their role at Plug Power, Geoff worked as a Mechanical Engineer at the same company. In this position, they designed and developed structural enclosures for high-volume production. Geoff implemented the use of CAE tools, with an emphasis on CFD for heat flows and FEA for structural analysis. Additionally, Geoff created 3D designs and 2D drawings for new parts.
Before joining Plug Power, Geoff was a Sr. Mechanical Engineer at RAB Lighting. Their responsibilities included designing and developing commercial and industrial lighting products. Geoff focused on increasing the use of CAE tools, particularly CFD for thermal flows and FEA for structural analysis. Geoff also implemented lean improvements to enhance processes and standard work.
Geoff's earlier experience includes working at Kärcher North America. Geoff started as a Sustaining Engineer II and was eventually promoted to New Product Development Engineer and Mechanical Engineer. In this senior-level role, Geoff led engineering teams in designing, developing, and testing floor care products to improve quality, customer experiences, and cost efficiency. Geoff collaborated with international teams on product design, transfer, and compliance.
Additionally, Geoff has experience as a Product Engineer at Proterra LLC. Geoff managed various engineering projects related to designing, validating, and testing mechanical components of a hybrid transit bus. Geoff focused on components for suspension, towing connection points, bumper integration, powertrain integration, thermal management, and structural housing of the battery pack. Geoff also created test plans and functional prototypes for the electric drivetrain.
Geoff Zarzecki, P.E. obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Design and Development from Michigan Technological University, where they studied from 2002 to 2006. Additionally, they received a Six Sigma Green Belt certification from ASQ in October 2014 and became a licensed Professional Engineer through the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies in October 2012.
