Jim Painton

Jim Painton, CMA has extensive work experience in finance and operations. Jim is currently serving as the Operations Controller, Services at Plug Power since January 2022.

Prior to their current role, Jim worked at Xerox for over two decades, holding various positions. From January 2017 to January 2022, they were the Sr. Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis. Before that, they served as the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis from January 2013 to December 2016. Jim also worked as the Controller - High Tech Strategic Business Unit from August 2011 to December 2012, where they managed the financial aspects of a $110 million portfolio of high-tech major accounts. Additionally, they were the Finance Manager - Equipment Sale Revenue from February 2008 to August 2011, providing financial guidance and leading a productivity initiative team. Jim's tenure at Xerox began in June 1998 as a Financial Analyst for Supplies, Webster Manufacturing & Equipment Revenue.

Before joining Xerox, Jim gained early experience as a Financial Intern at Merrill Lynch from June 1996 to September 1996.

Jim Painton, CMA, obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where they studied from 1993 to 1997. Jim then pursued further education at the Rochester Institute of Technology - Saunders College of Business, earning their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Finance from 1997 to 1998.
