Brian Boyd has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the media and entertainment industry. Brian began their career at Nu Media Studios as a Production and Development Assistant, where they supported the CEO and Executive Producer in the production and development of new media content. During their time there, they played a key role in presenting concept pitches and co-producing original content.
Brian then moved on to Entertainment One, where they served as an Executive Assistant, Development Coordinator, and eventually as a Manager of Development. In these roles, they managed office logistics, coordinated production activities, developed and pitched TV show concepts, and audited production accounting. Brian also generated creative pitch materials and performed production assistant duties.
Brian then joined L. Plummer Media as a Manager of Development, where they managed a development team, the production slate, and the company-wide sales strategy. Brian sourced and developed talent that led to major cable TV network sales and re-designed the development process for cost reduction and efficiency.
Brian later worked at CGO Studios as a Business Development Consultant, responsible for navigating the emerging Virtual Reality content market and developing branding and distribution strategies. Brian also led ongoing distribution negotiations and sponsor partnership efforts.
Prior to their current role at Pluto TV, Brian worked at American Mythic Pictures as the CEO, providing production services to business clients and acquiring and developing intellectual property for sale to major media distributors. Brian also co-produced a feature film with Mandalay Pictures and Inkubate Entertainment.
In their current role at Pluto TV, Brian has held positions as both the Sr. Manager and Manager of Content Partnerships. Brian'sresponsibilities include curating the channel lineup, blending traditional and digital entertainment, and ensuring a leanback television experience for viewers.
Brian Boyd earned their bachelor's degree from UC Santa Barbara in 2009, with a major in Business/Managerial Economics and Film and Media Studies. During their time as an undergraduate, they also had the opportunity to study abroad at The American University of Paris in 2007. Subsequently, in 2017, they completed their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Arts, Entertainment, and Media Management at the University of Southern California.
