John Sweet Cpacc

John Sweet, CPACC has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. John is currently serving as the Vice President of Accessibility and Technology Compliance at Paramount since January 2023. Prior to that, they held the same position at Pluto TV starting from October 2022. Before their role at Pluto TV, John served as the Sr. Director of Accessibility and Technology Compliance at Pluto TV from June 2021 to October 2022.

John also has a significant tenure at Charter Communications, where they occupied leadership positions in accessibility. From January 2019 to May 2021, they worked as the Sr. Manager of Accessibility, overseeing innovation and research and development for products targeting people with disabilities. In this role, they were responsible for managing Spectrum Access, an iOS app in the App Store. Additionally, they held the role of Manager of Accessibility at Charter Communications from May 2016 to January 2019.

John'sexperience also includes working as the IT Director at Knowbility, Inc. from June 2014 to May 2016, where they gained expertise in IT management. Prior to that, they had roles as a Graduate Technician III and Graduate Research Associate II at the Center for Human Factors in Advanced Aeronautic Technologies (CHAAT) from August 2013 to December 2014.

John started their career as a Research Intern at NASA Ames Research Center in June 2013. John then joined CHAAT again as a Graduate Research Associate I from July 2012 to June 2013. John also has experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at California State University, Long Beach from September 2012 to December 2012.

John began their professional journey as an Undergraduate Research Associate at the University of Southern California from December 2011 to May 2012. Prior to that, they held part-time positions as an Inventory Technician in the Housing Department and as a Staff Writer for the Daily Trojan Newspaper at the University of Southern California from June 2010 to July 2011.

Throughout their career, John Sweet, CPACC has accumulated extensive experience in accessibility and technology compliance, particularly in the media and telecommunications industries.

John Sweet, CPACC, obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and English (Creative Writing) from the University of Southern California from 2007 to 2011. John then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Human Factors at California State University, Long Beach from 2012 to 2014.

In addition to their academic achievements, John has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional skills. In October 2020, they earned their Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) certification from the IAAP - International Association of Accessibility Professionals. John further expanded their expertise by completing the Regulatory Compliance Specialization from Coursera in October 2021. John also obtained the Driving Intrapreneurship certification from the Intrapreneurship Academy (IA) in November 2018.
