Hemalatha Karveti has a wealth of experience in the legal and operations fields. Hemalatha began their career in 1999 as a Legal Aid Volunteer with Forum for Social Action, providing free legal aid for indigent pre-trial prisoners in Bangalore Central Jail. In 2000, they worked as a Newspaper In Education Consultant for Times of India. In 2001, Hemalatha was a Junior Attorney at Office of the Central Government Standing Counsel, High Court of Karnataka. From 2003 to 2006, they were a Legal Administrator - Venture Capital at Global Asset Capital, LLC. From 2006 to 2008, Hemalatha was a Legal Consultant at Guzik Technical Enterprises. During this time, they conducted legal research for trials and litigation related matters and assisted Senior Attorney at trial and litigation in drafting interrogatories, responses to interrogatories and document requests.
From 2008 to 2015, Hemalatha was at HCL Technologies, where they advanced progressively in the legal team. Hemalatha was responsible for developing and managing Corporate Compliance Program within HCL for LATAM, ANZ, Japan and EU, directly reporting to the Board and Senior Management. Hemalatha also led Risk Management, Internal Audit, Human Resources, and Employee Services departments. From 2015 to 2018, Hemalatha was at Polycom, where they managed direct and indirect procurement teams driving efficiencies in legal and procurement process related to Polycom's products, solutions and service offerings. Hemalatha was also instrumental in drafting and implementing Polycom's EU data privacy/ security requirements and GDPR compliance program.
Since 2018, Hemalatha has been at Pluto7, where they have held two roles. Hemalatha was the VP of Operations, where they spearheaded strategies to steer Pluto7's future in a positive direction, driving operating capabilities to surpass customer satisfaction and retention, and company goals. Hemalatha also designed and implemented business strategies, plans and procedures supporting Google Cloud Channels and introducing tactical initiatives to address issues. Additionally, Hemalatha is the Chief People Officer, where they are responsible for energizing teams globally, bridging strategy and culture to effectively execute with high end talent management driving innovation culture. Hemalatha is also working with the organization to continue to develop a well-defined company culture building and retaining an exceptional team of professionals crafting leadership data focused development plans.
Hemalatha Karveti's education history includes a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law (now UC Law San Francisco) between 2002 and 2003, a PGD in Medical Law & Ethics from the National Law School of India University between 1999 and 2000, a B.A.L, LL.B from Bangalore University between 1995 and 2000, and attendance at Cluny. Additionally, they have obtained a GAIQ Certification from Google in June 2020 and is a Licensed Attorney with the Bar Council of India.
