Dana A. Flynn

Chief of Police at Plymouth Police Department

Dana Flynn's work experience includes serving as the Assistant Control Chief for the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council (METROLEC) since 2023. They also hold the position of Member of the Board of Directors for the Southeastern Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association since 2023. Previously, Dana worked at the Plymouth Police Department, where they held various roles, including Chief of Police and Acting Chief of Police. They also served as a Captain in the Office of Professional Standards and Administration, Operations Lieutenant, Shift Commander (Lieutenant), Patrol Supervisor (Sergeant), and Patrolman. Additionally, Dana worked as an Adjunct Faculty Instructor at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy from 2009 to 2016. Before that, they served as a U.S. Merchant Marine Officer at MEBA Dist 1-PCD (AFL-CIO) from 1988 to 1997 and in the U.S. Navy Reserve, holding the ranks of Lieutenant and Lieutenant Junior Grade.

Dana Flynn has a Master of Science degree in Emergency Management from Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Dana also holds a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Western New England University. In addition, Dana has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering from Massachusetts Maritime Academy.
