Sonja Plesset

Sonja Plesset is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in leadership roles within nonprofit organizations and academia. Since November 2016, Sonja has served as the Executive Director of the James M. and Cathleen D. Stone Foundation and the Executive Director of the Plymouth Rock Assurance Foundation since October 2016. Additionally, Sonja holds positions on the Executive Committee of Stone Living Lab and as an Advisory Board Member at the University of Michigan Institute for Social Research, while also serving on the Board of Trustees for the Cathleen Stone Island Outward Bound School. An advisor for the MAAH Stone Book Award since October 2018, Sonja's previous roles include Chief Advancement Officer at the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and Vice President of Institutional Advancement at the Whitehead Institute. Sonja received a BA in Anthropology from Cornell University and a PhD in Anthropology from Harvard University.
