Rob Thompson

Rob Thompson has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Rob currently holds the role of VP Membership at PMI Chicagoland Chapter, where they provide strategic leadership, mentoring, and coaching to members in the project management profession. Rob is also responsible for communication with senior leaders to achieve organizational objectives. Prior to this, Rob served as a Director at PMI Chicagoland, overseeing programs and supporting new member integration.

Before joining PMI Chicagoland, Rob worked at NTT DATA Services, where they held the position of Consulting Director. In this role, they provided guidance and support to program managers and distributed teams in the Medical Distribution industry. Rob collaborated with stakeholders to balance project quality, cost, and timing, and align resources accordingly. Rob also served as an Associate Director of Quality Assurance, leading a transformational initiative for a life insurance company.

Rob's earlier experience includes roles as a Program Manager and QA Practice Head in the public sector, where they delivered business and technical solutions to various clients. Rob was involved in the development of internal QA assessments and implemented test strategies for successful projects. Additionally, Rob worked as a Program Manager at Keane, managing distributed teams and overseeing contract management system projects in various sectors.

Prior to this, they worked as a Project Manager at Metro. Overall, Rob Thompson has a strong background in program management, quality assurance, and leadership roles in the project management field.

Rob Thompson has a Bachelor of Science degree in Organization & Management from Capella University. Rob also studied Entertainment Management at Columbia College Chicago. Additionally, they have obtained certifications such as Chapter Leader 2022 from the Project Management Institute, Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (DASM), and Project Management Professional (PMP) in 2005.
