Dr. Rolf Bungart

Dr. Rolf Bungart has extensive work experience in the renewable energy sector. Dr. Rolf is currently the Executive Vice President of Project Development Onshore National at PNE AG, where they are responsible for leading and managing the operational business unit. Their role includes strategic expansion of project development to include photovoltaics, repowering, hydrogen, hybrid projects, storage technologies, power purchase agreements, and future energy solutions. Additionally, they have experience in post-merger integration.

Prior to their current position, Dr. Bungart worked as the Managing Partner at Ostwind Beteiligungs GmbH for seven years. Dr. Rolf was also the CEO of Ostwind Erneuerbare Energien GmbH, where they led the operational business units of project development/repowering and marketing/sales. Dr. Rolf successfully implemented turn-key wind projects, managed wind farms in Germany and the Czech Republic, and was responsible for cooperation, investment, and contract management. Dr. Rolf also played a significant role in establishing branch offices and expanding business and competency fields.

Dr. Bungart's career in the renewable energy sector started at Ostwind project GmbH, where they served as the Head of Project Development and Marketing Department. Dr. Rolf was responsible for project acquisition, due diligence, project controlling, and strategic conception of project development in Germany and the Czech Republic. Dr. Rolf also handled the marketing and sales of turn-key wind parks, focused on manufacturers, project financing, and budget planning.

Before joining Ostwind project GmbH, Dr. Bungart worked at Ostwind Verwaltungs GmbH as a Project Developer and Coordinator. Dr. Rolf worked on international projects in various countries, including China, Croatia, Estonia, Greece, and the Czech Republic. Dr. Rolf played a crucial role in establishing and structuring the project development department, acquiring locations, and particularly developing sites in post-mining landscapes.

Dr. Bungart's academic background includes working as a Research Assistant at Brandenburgische Technische Universität Cottbus. Dr. Rolf also worked as a trainee at Bayerische Staatsforstverwaltung.
