Harlan Crystal

Harlan Crystal is the CTO and co-founder of Pocket Gems. Prior to that, they were the VP of Engineering at Smartleaf, where they helped build software that manages over $50,000,000,000 of assets. Harlan has also worked as a teaching assistant at Harvard University and as a computer vision research engineer at The Blindsight Corporation. In 2006, they founded OurTaste, Inc., a technology start-up for web-based restaurant recommendations.

Harlan Crystal dropped out of grad school at Cornell University, where they studied computer science. Harlan later earned a B.A. in computer science from Cornell University. Before that, they attended Bronx High School of Science.
