Krister Fardig

Lead Product Manager at Pocket Gems

Krister Fardig has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Krister started their career as a Director of Community at the Non-Profit International Online Gaming Association (NIOGA), where they played a key role in managing and developing an online collectible card game called Sanctum. Krister served as a founding board member, purchased Sanctum from the original creators, and led the transition to non-profit status. Additionally, Krister Fardig served as a Programmer and Designer for Sanctum: Revolutions, which included the release of new cards and a new board design. Krister also created events and promotions for over 100,000 accounts, maintaining customer activity at levels comparable to for-profit organizations.

Krister Fardig then moved on to work at Microsoft, starting as a Software Test Engineer and later becoming a Software Development Engineer in Test. During their time at Microsoft, they took on various responsibilities, including being the Feature Owner for Themes, Live Preview, Ease of Use, Cross-Functional Flowchart, and Insert/Delete Shapes for Visio 2010. Krister also served as the team driver for Accessibility for Visio 2010, designing and implementing an accessibility test plan and directing its execution by a 20-person Visio test team. In their earlier role, they were the Feature Owner for Data Connectivity and Building Engineering for Visio 2007, and they worked closely with a cross-functional team to review feature specifications, create test design specifications, write test automation, and verify functionality and stability.

After Microsoft, Krister Fardig worked at Amazon as a Senior Financial Analyst MBA Intern. In this role, they designed, created, and implemented a forecasting model for corporate legal expenditures, performing deep statistical analysis of historical expenditures, correlations, and future trends. Krister successfully reduced tracking costs by 67% and expanded the forecast horizon while maintaining equivalent accuracy levels.

Krister Fardig also gained experience at various other companies. Krister worked at the US Senator Jeff Merkley's office as an Intern, providing data analysis, briefing, and decision memoranda on topical issues. Krister also modernized and automated constituent mail and phone call reports, as well as evaluated unemployment data in support of legislative efforts. Krister had a temporary role as a Project Analyst at Foss Maritime Company, and as a Product Analyst at Facebook, they focused on product analysis.

Most recently, Krister Fardig has been working at Pocket Gems, starting as a Senior Product Manager and subsequently being promoted to Lead Product Manager. Further details about their roles at Pocket Gems are not provided.

Krister Fardig pursued their education at Brown University from 1999 to 2003, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science. Krister later went on to attend the University of Washington - Michael G. Foster School of Business from 2010 to 2012, where they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
