Javier Martín

Javier Martín has a diverse range of work experience spanning several fields. Javier currently serves as the Research & Innovation Manager at Pod Group - A Giesecke+Devrient Company, where they are responsible for product management and development, specifically in the areas of SIM and eSIM portfolio design, technical definition, integration with suppliers, and IoT Applications design and implementation.

Prior to their current role, Javier worked at Giesecke+Devrient Mobile Security for over two decades. Javier held various positions in the company, including Customer Product Manager, Project Manager, and Software Engineer. As Customer Product Manager, they provided technical consulting, customer support, introduced products and roadmaps, and analyzed customer requirements for product definition. In their role as Project Manager, Javier offered sales technical support, generated project plans and cost estimations, and managed product development and production setup. During their tenure as a Software Engineer, they developed Smartcard Operating Systems and Applications, managed software development projects, and defined specifications and products.

Javier's earlier work experience includes roles as a Researcher in Aeronautics at the Technical University of Munich and the University of Seville. At the Technical University of Munich, they worked on two separate projects related to genetic algorithms for aerodynamic structure optimization and piezo-actuated adaptive structures for vibration damping and shape control. At the University of Seville, they conducted research on automatic control, focusing on algorithms for vehicle control and the development of simulators for mobile robots.

Before their career in academia and technology companies, Javier served as an Army Communications Officer in the Transmissions Unit of the Spanish Army. In this role, they were responsible for maintaining and deploying telecommunications resources for the regiment command center in Mallorca.
