Mette Nissen

Mette Nissen currently serves as the Administrative Deputy Chief Medical Officer for Hospital Services Reform Implementation at Pohjois-Savon hyvinvointialue and as a Medical Advisor for the Patient Information System Implementation Project since August 2024. Mette has been with Kuopio University Hospital since February 2013, working as a Neurosurgeon and Project Manager responsible for creating the Surgical Operations Manual for the North Savo Welfare Area. Mette also held roles as a Resident Doctor in Neurosurgery and has experience as a team doctor for the Steelers and the Women’s National American football team. Mette's medical education includes an MD and a PhD in Neurosurgery from the University of Eastern Finland, and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering at LAB University of Applied Sciences.
