Elesha Nightingale, J.D. has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple years. Elesha is the Founder/Board President of The Uplift since November 2020. In addition, they currently hold the position of Associate Director of Public Policy and Strategic Advocacy at Polaris (formerly Polaris Project) since October 2021. Previously, Nightingale worked as a National Campaign Consultant at The Justice Collaborative from August 2020 to November 2020. Elesha was a Legal Campaigns Fellow at Heartland Alliance from December 2019 to September 2020. Nightingale also has experience at Access Living, where they served as a Policy Advisor from October 2018 to December 2019, a YIELD Coordinator from January 2018 to February 2019, and a DJMC Coordinator from December 2016 to February 2019. Earlier in their career, they worked as an Associate Investigator at a private company from 2007 to 2014.

Elesha Nightingale, J.D. pursued their education in a chronological manner. Elesha first attended Southern Oregon University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology. Following this, they enrolled in Portland State University to further their pre-law studies. Finally, Elesha completed their legal education at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, where they obtained their Juris Doctor degree.
