Marco Carlson

Marco Carlson currently serves as a Technical Project Leader in Metals and Minerals at Polestar and as a Scientific Advisor at TERRABARRIER, having previously held numerous significant research and engineering roles. With experience as a Research Affiliate and Senior Researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, including a notable postdoctoral fellowship, Marco worked on advanced projects related to fossil-free steel production and additive manufacturing of lightweight alloys. Prior positions include Expert Materials Technology Engineer at Volvo Group, focusing on sustainability and process optimization, and Research Fellow at Monash University. Marco's educational background features a Doctor of Philosophy in Materials Science and Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology and advanced studies in sustainability strategies from the University of Cambridge.
