Ian Bell has extensive work experience in the field of information technology, particularly in the law enforcement sector. Ian currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Police Digital Service since April 2021, and previously held the position of CEO since March 2018. Prior to that, Ian worked as the Chief Information Officer for Bedfordshire Police, Cambridgeshire & Hertfordshire Constabularies from January 2016 to April 2021. Ian also worked as the Enabling Programmes Director for the National Police Chiefs' Council from November 2016 to March 2018. Ian has held various management roles in the field of ICT, including Head of ICT for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire & Hertfordshire Police from July 2014 to December 2015, and Head of ICT for Cambridgeshire Constabulary from September 2011 to July 2014. Ian started their career as an IT Service Manager at British Sugar from June 2005 to September 2008 and as an IT Service Co-Ordinator at The College of West Anglia from June 2003 to June 2005.
