Jim Thorburn

Jim Thorburn is an experienced law enforcement and community relations professional currently serving as President of Moving Forward Consulting LLC since October 2023, where innovative training programs are offered alongside notable instructors. Thorburn also teaches Public Information Officer methods at Police Technical and serves as a UAS instructor at WARFIGHTER CONCEPTS LLC, focusing on personalized learning environments. Previously, Thorburn spent over 27 years at the Allen Park Police Department in various roles, including Community Relations Specialist and Detective, where significant community engagement programs were developed, and criminal investigations were conducted. Thorburn began a law enforcement career with the Michigan State Police as a Police Detective from 2008 to 2011, specializing in narcotics enforcement. A Northern Michigan University alumnus, Thorburn holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice/Police Science.
