Douglas Busvine

Douglas Busvine is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in economic, trade, and technology reporting. Currently serving as the Trade & Agri Editor at POLITICO Europe since October 2021, Douglas has led investigative stories on Russian sanctions and previously edited health coverage related to the pandemic and the war in Ukraine. Prior to POLITICO, Douglas spent over a decade at Reuters News Agency, holding multiple roles including European Technology Correspondent and Bureau Chief in India, where leadership and coordination of a sizable reporting team were key responsibilities. Douglas also contributed significantly as Chief Financial Correspondent for Russia and the CIS, being part of a team awarded for investigative reporting. Earlier career milestones include directing at Medley Global Advisors and various correspondent roles for Reuters across Europe and Central Asia, showcasing a breadth of knowledge in business, finance, and political reporting. Douglas holds a Master's degree in Modern History from the University of Oxford and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
