Kristen East has extensive experience in editorial roles, currently serving as Editorial Director for Newsroom Platform Innovation at POLITICO since June 2015. In this position, Kristen drives the newsroom's involvement in product development projects, focusing on research, strategy, and editorial priorities. Previous roles at POLITICO include Digital Editor, Production Editor, Assistant Web Editor, Web Producer, and Editorial Intern, showcasing a strong trajectory in digital journalism and production operations. Prior to POLITICO, Kristen was Politics Editor at The Daily Iowan, where initiatives were launched to enhance political reporting, and served as Editor-in-Chief, leading a significant student staff and earning national recognition for the publication. Kristen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Political Science from The University of Iowa.
