Alex Helmar has a diverse work experience in various manufacturing and engineering roles.
Starting in 2012, they worked as a Technician at JHMotorsports inc. for eight months.
In 2013, they joined PARLEE Cycles as a Custom Frame Builder, where they worked until January 2019.
In February 2019, they joined Terrafugia as a Mechanical Technician, where they played a key role in building the composite structure of the first flying car. Alex led teams of technicians in large-scale composite manufacturing techniques and worked closely with design and manufacturing engineers. Their role at Terrafugia ended in July 2019.
From July 2019 to May 2020, Alex worked as an Additive Manufacturing Specialist at Poly6 Technologies. Alex then transitioned to the role of Production Leader from May 2020 to June 2021. Afterward, they served as a Manufacturing Engineer from June 2021 to December 2022. Currently, they hold the position of Manufacturing Operations Manager at Poly6 Technologies, starting in December 2022.
Alex Helmar obtained an Associate's degree in Computer/Information Technology Administration and Management from Northshore Community College, beginning in 2013 and graduating in 2014. In terms of additional certifications, Alex Helmar obtained the Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing Professional - Technologist (GDTP) certification from ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) in January 2019, as well as the Six Sigma Black Belt Certification – Level III from Consolidated Precision Products Corp in February 2023.
