Salma began working at Polymateria on a temporary basis in March 2022, while finishing her final year of university. After graduating with a BSc with hons in forensic science from UWL, she transferred to a more permanent role. At University she completed a research project on Bayesian network probability combining evidence and case linkage. During her studies, she learnt and practiced on a weekly basis how to use scientific applications and methodologies, such as infrared spectroscopy, to determine the composition of a piece of evidence. Using the Headspace application, she evaluated whether the evidence collected at the crime scene was liquid (blood) or solid (fibres). In her spare time, she enjoys reading and she is a huge football fan (not Spurs).
