Rod New, P.E., S.E. has over 35 years of work experience in structural engineering. Rod is currently the Director of Structural Engineering at Pond & Company since September 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Associate at Palmer Engineering Company from December 2019 to September 2020. From March 2016 to November 2019, Rod served as the Director of Structural Development at GreenbergFarrow. Before that, they were a Senior Project Manager at Barry Levin & Associates, Inc. from June 1993 to March 2016. Rod also worked as a Senior Project Manager at SKT Structural Engineering from April 1989 to June 1993 and as a Project Manager at Robert Lawson Structural Engineering from February 1983 to April 1989.

Rod New, P.E., S.E. obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo in the years 1979 to 1982. Rod is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Georgia and the State of Florida, completing this certification in November 2016. Additionally, they hold the Professional Engineer certification from The State of New York. Rod is also pursuing registrations as a Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado, the State of Montana, the State of Oregon, and the State of Washington. Furthermore, they are working towards becoming a Registered Structural Engineer in the State of California.
