Vaughn Morris

Vaughn Morris, MST, has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Starting in 2006, they worked as a Warehouse Laborer at The Exchange, where they prioritized inbound freight unloading and assisted with categorizing and transporting freight. In 2010, they interned at the California Public Utilities Commission, gaining experience in daily fiscal operations, data entry, and communication skills. From 2011 to 2012, they served as a Transportation Analyst at South Carolina State University, responsible for maintaining data integrity and researching state traffic behavior.

In 2012, Morris joined XPO Logistics, Inc. as a Procurement Manager, where they led domestic and international business intelligence and sourcing efforts, implemented operational best practices, and managed key suppliers. Vaughn then transitioned to Beacon Roofing Supply in 2014 as a Supply Chain Manager, overseeing operations, controlling spend, negotiating contracts, and managing staff.

From 2018 to 2019, Morris worked at Sysco as a Regional Logistics Manager, providing strategic leadership for 11 distribution centers and improving operational readiness. At Johnson Controls from 2019 to 2021, they served as a Global Procurement Manager. In this role, they managed procurement activities and contributed to cost-cutting and process improvement initiatives.

In 2021, Morris joined the Center for Breakthrough Medicines, initially as an Associate Director of Purchasing (Interim), and later as an Associate Director of Strategic Sourcing & Category Management. In these roles, they developed long-term and short-term strategies, coordinated sourcing efforts, and established an environment that promoted teamwork and innovation.

Most recently, Morris joined POOLCORP in 2022, starting as a Sr. Manager of Transportation and then being promoted to Director of Global Transportation (Fleet & Logistics) in 2023. Vaughn is responsible for overseeing global transportation operations and logistics strategies within the organization.

Vaughn Morris, MST, holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Transportation Planning from South Carolina State University, which they obtained in 2012. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science - Public Administration from the same university in 2010. Additionally, Vaughn has a Certificate in Lean Six Sigma from Villanova University, which they obtained in 2015.
