Bala Thakrar

Bala Thakrar is an experienced professional with a comprehensive background in partnership development, community engagement, and social services. Currently serving as WellOne Partnerships Manager at Poplar HARCA since September 2017, Bala has pioneered a partnership model that connects local health providers and corporates to enhance the wellbeing of Poplar residents. Prior roles include Consultant at LINCOLN AREA REGENERATION GROUP, Founder Director of the Asian Foundation For Philanthropy, and Minority Ethnic Fund Project Manager at Charities Aid Foundation. Bala also has significant experience in programme management and organizational development within the Asian community, evidenced by earlier positions at VSO and as co-founder of APNA GHAR HOUSING ASSOCIATION LIMITED. Graduating with a BA (Hons) in Social Science from the Polytechnic of Central London, Bala combines strategic insight with a commitment to community empowerment.
