Nahim Ahmed MBE has a diverse range of work experience in the youth and community engagement sector. Nahim currently holds the position of Head of Strategic Engagement (Youth & Community) at Poplar HARCA, where they have previously served as Strategic Community Engagement Manager and Youth and Community Engagement Manager. Prior to their time at Poplar HARCA, Nahim worked at Canary Wharf Group plc as a Youth Engagement Lead and Community Engagement Coordinator. Nahim has also held roles at The Young Foundation as a Community Advisory Board Member, The Aziz Foundation as an Aziz Foundation Scholar, Stepney Green Maths and Computing College as a Mediation Officer and Coach, and community links as an Events Manager. Additionally, Nahim gained experience as a Youth Worker at the University of East London.
Nahim Ahmed MBE has a diverse education history. Nahim pursued a postgraduate degree in Strategic Management of Projects at UCL from 2020 to 2022. Prior to that, they attended Cambridge Judge Business School in 2015 for a course on Innovative Social Entrepreneurship. In the same year, they also participated in a Leadership Programme at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies. Nahim's interest in community leadership led him to SOAS University of London, where they completed a postgraduate degree in Law and Community Leadership from 2013 to 2014.
Their undergraduate studies were focused on Youth and Community Studies, which they pursued from 2009 to 2012 at the University of East London. Before that, they completed their A Levels in Law, Sociology, Art, and BTEC Business Diploma at Sir John Cass Sixth Form between 2006 and 2009. Nahim finished their high school education at Stepney Green Maths and Computing College from 2001 to 2006.
Aside from their formal education, Nahim Ahmed also holds several certifications. Nahim obtained PRINCE2® certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice in December 2019. In July 2019, they received the BCAa certification from The British Citizen Award. Additionally, Nahim became an Associate Fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society in March 2015. In 2014, they successfully completed the UpRising Leadership program and became an Upriser and Graduate. In 2013, Nahim was a delegate for the first cohort of Remembering Srebrenica.
