Megan Kensington has a diverse work experience background. Megan currently works as the Co-founder and COO of PopPD, a personalized learning platform that focuses on implementation and provides relevant training for learners and creators. Prior to this, Megan owned their own consulting business called The Course Designer, where they helped entrepreneurs create online learning experiences through services such as program auditing and design. Megan also worked as an Interdisciplinary Studies Instructor at Southern New Hampshire University, where they taught critical thinking and communication skills to adult learners. Megan has experience as a Humanities Instructor at Wentworth Institute of Technology, where they designed and taught English courses and scored above department and university averages in course evaluations. Additionally, they worked as a Curriculum and Digital Learning Consultant for Boomwriter, where they researched and presented trends in education and developed digital writing curriculum for teachers. Megan also has experience in the education sector, having worked as an Interdisciplinary Projects Manager and Coach at Needham Public Schools, an English and Interdisciplinary Studies Teacher at Needham High School, and a First Year Advisor and Programs Coordinator at Boston College Lynch School. Megan began their teaching career as an English and Humanities Teacher at Boston Latin School. Megan's work experience also includes time as an Orientation Leader at Boston College, where they hosted incoming first-year students and their families and facilitated conversations about campus life and academic pathways.
Megan Kensington's education history begins in 2003 when they graduated from Greenwich High School. In 2007, they attended Boston College and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English and Secondary Education in 2011. Following this, they pursued their Master of Education (MEd) degree in Curriculum and Instruction at the Boston College Lynch School from 2011 to 2012. In 2014, they furthered their education by completing another MEd degree, specializing in Educational/Instructional Technology, at Lesley University, which they completed in 2016.
In addition to their academic degrees, Megan has obtained several certifications. In 2015, they achieved the Professional Educator License (English 8-12) from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education. That same year, they also received the Sheltered English Immersion Educator Certification from the same institution. In 2016, Megan became a Certified Educator through Google for Education. Lastly, in April 2023, they achieved the prestigious ASU+GSV Summit 2023 - Elite 200 certification from the ASU+GSV Summit institution.
