Alex Smith has worked in a variety of roles in the technology industry since 2008. In 2010, they served as Assistant Editor for the movie 'Vinyl', directed by Sara Sugarman and co-written by Jim Cooper. From 2011 to 2012, they worked at UKTV as a Network Performance & Scheduling Executive, Network Schedule Coordinator, and Continuity and Navigation Planner. In 2011, they were a Continuity Coordinator at Discovery Communications. From 2008 to 2010, they worked at Solent Productions as an AP/Camera Operator/Editor/Motion Graphics, working on projects such as sport, fashion, and live music. From 2017 to 2019, they worked at JUST EAT as a Software Engineer and Associate Engineer (Xamarin/.NET). From 2019 to 2020, they were a Software Development Engineer - Android at Capital One. From 2020 to 2021, they were an Android Engineer at Ford Motor Company. Currently, they are a Lead Android Engineer at Popsa and a Software Development Consultant & Engineer providing consultancy and software development services to technology clients in the UK.

Alex Smith obtained a BA (Hons) Television Production from Solent University in 2010, where they specialized in Television Studio Production. In 2017, they completed an Application Security and Secure Coding Training course in .NET from Codebashing. In 2018, they completed an Application Security and Secure Coding Training course in Android from Codebashing.
