Dr. Irina Akhmanova is an accomplished architectural professional with extensive experience in designing and delivering large-scale sports venues. Currently serving as an Associate Principal at Populous since April 2020, Dr. Akhmanova leads architectural projects for stadiums and multifunctional complexes, ensuring compliance with global standards and client goals. Prior to this, Dr. Akhmanova held notable positions at MAGNUM, where key contributions included designing four stadiums for the FIFA World Cup 2018 and developing venues for the Sochi Olympic Games 2014. Additional roles include serving as Leading Architect and Chief Technologist at Sportengineering.ru, and various architect positions, beginning in 2001. Dr. Akhmanova holds a Master's degree from Moscow Architectural Institute and is currently pursuing a PhD in Architecture.
