Ulf Kirsten is an experienced professional in the field of tunnel engineering and machinery, currently serving as the Head of Machine Technology operational and Head of Machine Technology Düsseldorf at PORR Deutschland since November 2021. Kirsten has been a lecturer at TU Bergakademie Freiberg since April 2016, focusing on mechanized tunnelling and tunnel machinery. Previously, Kirsten held various technical roles at HOCHTIEF from January 2015 to October 2021, including Mechanical & Electrical Manager for the London Power Tunnels Phase 2 project and Senior Mechanical Engineer for notable projects such as Tunnel3JV Copenhagen and York Potash UK. Early experience also includes work as a Research Assistant at TU Bergakademie Freiberg and various engineering positions at FAM Förderanlagen Magdeburg and HOCHTIEF Civil Engineering and Tunneling. Ulf Kirsten holds a Dr.-Ing. in Drilling Engineering and a Dipl.-Ing. in Mechanical Engineering from TU Bergakademie Freiberg.
