Mark Porterie

Dr. Mark Porterie has been superintendent for the Port Arthur Independent School District since January 2014. He holds the distinction of being the first superintendent in PAISD history to be named Region 5 Superintendent of the Year. He was selected for the recognition in 2018, from among leaders of 35 Southeast Texas school districts. Dr. Porterie was also one of five finalists for Superintendent of the Year for the state of Texas. Those honors are among the highlights of his nearly 30 years in the field of education.
