Mark Darmanin

Mark Darmanin has extensive experience in the government sector, particularly in water and wastewater operations. Mark served as the Director of Water and Wastewater Operations at Broward County Government from 2013, overseeing various aspects of the utility, such as treatment facilities, distribution systems, and compliance sections. During their time there, Broward County won the AWWA distribution system of the year award in 2014.

Additionally, Mark has served as a Board Member for the General Employee Retirement Systems of the City of Pompano Beach since 2017. Prior to that, they held multiple roles at the General Employee's Retirement System, City of Fort Lauderdale, including Chairman of the Board from 2005 to 2017, and Utilities Bureau Manager from 1991 to 2014. In these positions, they managed large-scale capital improvement projects and oversaw the administration and operation of storm water collection, water distribution, and wastewater collection systems. Mark also represented the public works sector on various committees. Overall, Mark has a strong track record of leadership and achievement in the field of government utilities.

Mark Darmanin has earned a Master of Public Administration degree from Florida Atlantic University and a Bachelor of Public Management degree from the same institution. Mark is currently pursuing a certification in Certified Public Works Professional Management from the American Public Works Association, with an expected completion date in 2023.
